Fast becoming some of our most loved events here at Forest Explorers, is our popular Treemendous Tuesday Tales. Always ran on a Tuesday, we run two sessions, one morning session 10-11.30am and an afternoon session 12.30-2.00pm. Each session is themed, and since creating the sessions in April this year, we have enjoyed many popular and fun filled themes, such as the Gruffalo, Superworm and We’re going on a Bear Hunt. Our hope is to progress from more popular stories to some lesser known stories for the children to enjoy and discover.
They are fun filled and educational as each session always begins by reading and discussing the storybook the event is centred by. More often than not in sessions past, the children are familiar with the stories, and so its brilliant to discuss the children’s favourite parts and opinions on the characters. After that the rest of the session is enjoyed with different activities, still in keeping with the theme. For Example. in our Gruffalo Treemendous Tuesday Tales some of our activities include making a Gruffalo using clay and natural materials to take home, become a mouse and follow the Gruffalo hunt, make Gruffalo food in the mud kitchen and much more.
This summer we have lots of Treemendous Tuesday Tales including The Gruffalo on June 5th. The Bog Baby on August 7th. We’re Going on a Bear Hunt on August 14th and Superworm on August 21st. A ticket costs £6 per child, and all children must be accompanied by an adult, who can attend for free. We have 20 paces per session, but they fill up quickly so please head over to our events page on http://www.forest-explorers.co.uk/ We ask that children are dressed for the weather on the day and forest environment, paths are forest paths but suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs, however paths may be muddy.
We hope so see you in some of our upcoming Treemendous Tales, we have lots of new sessions upcoming at the end of Summer and rolling into the Autumn months. Some of the books are Bumble Bear, Where the Wild Things Are, Owl Babies, The Wild Woods, Stick Man, Room on the Broom and many more. Keep your eyes peeled on our Events page on our website, and on our Facebook page.
