We are running a volunteer day on Sunday 12th April to help us move our Forest School area. Please come and help us!
There is an ever approaching wetland area in our current Forest school which has made some trees unstable. In the high winds earlier this year, this meant that some trees in the boggy area became unsafe and unfortunately had to be cut down and we don’t like to remove our beautiful trees!
We have identified a new area for Forest school and we are so grateful to the Forestry Commission for their help. It will be fenced and cleared, and we need to move our mud kitchen, fire pit, mud target area, minibeasts, story area, fire circle logs, build tree houses, obstacle courses, den building areas, bug hotels, firewood storage. We also have lots of exciting ideas for new attractions and things to add to our area. Lots of fun to be had helping design our new Forest school.
Perhaps you are a teacher wishing to gain more experience in a Forest School area, a bushcraft /outdoor enthusiast, a parent who has attended events, parties, or Forest School, live locally or just someone who wants an active, fun day outdoors?
We will reward you with hot food cooked outdoors and toasted marshmallows on the fire. We are aiming to work from 10-ish to 4-ish but would welcome any time you can give us in this timeframe. We wouldn’t recommend children under the age of 10 attend due to the nature of the heavy work and tools involved. We will provide tools. You will need to dress appropriately for the forest environment and the weather on the day though!
Please email us [email protected] if you would like to help.
