February 19, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm| £5.20
Age: 3- 10 years
Event Description: A day in the forest for families, we will be having a few hours of forest fun with a theme of birds as it is National Nest box week.
There will be lots of self-led activities to take part in all based on free play as this is the best way for children to learn, explore and discover, be imaginative and creative whilst having fun with their families. This event is not structured, you take part in the activities when and if you want to. Have a go at building dens, play games, go on a bug hunt, use tools to make things from wood, try your hand at fire lighting, use the swing, obstacle course and hammocks and play in the mud kitchen plus much more! There will be so much to do! Our aim is to get as many families outdoors having fun so why not come and join in the fun! We will stop for half an hour lunch, please bring a rug and a packed lunch as we will be eating on the forest floor,, if the weather is too cold or wet we will eat in the heated classroom. We will gather together at the end of the session for a fire toasting marshmallows.
Event Info: We are outdoors for the whole session so please come dressed for the weather. You may get muddy so a spare change of clothes is recommended. Please bring waterproofs and outdoor footwear. Please bring a packed lunch and a rug to sit on.
Please meet at the education centre which is located behind TRACS cycle hire.
All events are non-refundable unless cancelled by Forest Explorers or the Forestry Commission in which case a full refund will be given.
Parking: Parking charges apply, please visit www.forestry.gov.uk/delamere for more information on parking charges.
