Age: Recommended age 6 + due to weight of shields and swords

Event Description: This event is for home educated children and their families only.

Children will be learn what it was like to live like a Viking! Viking games, learning how to fight using shields and swords, plus exploring other viking weaponry. They will also be learning how to make Viking crafts and much more!




Event Info: This event is for home educated children and their families only. Please do not book a ticket if you do not home educate your children.

Please meet at the education classroom.
Remember to bring a packed lunch and suitable outdoor clothing including waterproofs and sturdy outdoor footwear.
Parents of children over 8 years do not need to accompany their children however we do welcome all parents to attend and join in as they wish.
All tickets are non-refundable unless the session is cancelled by Forest Explorers or the Forestry Commission. Sessions go ahead in all weathers except high winds when it is unsafe to be in the forest.

Parking: Please park in the Linmere Visitor car park next to the cafe and TRACS cycle hire. Parking charges do apply however we strongly recommend if you are attending regularly you purchase a Discovery Pass which entitles you to a years parking. Discovery Passes can be purchased from TRACS cycle hire or the Forestry England office. If you are purchasing a ticket from the car parking machines please bring the correct change.
